Car and bike questions? We have the answers

Is there a problem with the handling of the Hyundai Verna? If so, what are my other alternatives in the Rs. 9 lakh to Rs. 11 lakh price bracket? Is the Skoda Rapid a good car?

The Verna's handling is tuned for city use and if you drive mainly within city limits, you won't find the Verna difficult to drive. However, at highway speeds and on uneven surfaces, the Verna is extremely bouncy and doesn't encourage driver confidence. The Rapid is an excellent car and is in fact better on overall value than the Verna.

I want to buy a sports bike and I have narrowed my options down to the TVS Apache RTR 180, Honda CBR 250R and the Kawasaki Ninja 250R.

The Honda CBR 250R is the best overall bike from the three models shortlisted by you.

I am looking for a 100cc bike that will give me the best mileage and lowest maintenance costs. I like the Bajaj Discover DTS-i 100cc and the Hero MotoCorp Splendor Plus. Which one is better and costs not more than Rs. 55,000? I'm open to suggestions for a different bike as well.

Rochak Sharma

Although it isn't one of the models shortlisted by you, the Honda CB Twister makes an excellent commuter motorcycle that is the best in its class and is also within the same segment.

I'm planning to buy a new bike with an engine smaller than 160cc. My priorities are a mileage figure of at least 50kpl, low maintenance costs and comfort. I've shortlisted a few — the TVS Apache RTR 160 FI, the Yamaha SZ-R, the Honda Dazzler and the Hero MotoCorp Hunk.

Ziyad Ahmed

The Honda Dazzler is a good motorcycle for you and suits your requirements.

I am planning to buy my first bike in the next two or three months. I am looking at a bike that costs not more than Rs. 62,000. Could you suggest one that will give me a good mileage, has sporty looks, rides comfortably and has low maintenance costs? I travel about 40-50km a day.

The best motorcycle for you is the Honda CB Twister. This 110cc bike offers you modern styling and good ride quality. Maintenance costs are minimal as well.

I am 6ft tall and I want a Hero MotoCorp bike. Does the Passion Pro or the Splendo NXG l fulfil my criteria?

Neither the Hero MotoCorp Splendor NXG nor Passion Pro will suit your height. You need to consider a larger-capacity motorcycle such as the Karizma, on which you will be very comfortable.
