Grace Quigley (Katharine Hepburn) is an old, worn-out woman with nothing to live for. So she hires a professional killer Seymour Flint (Nick Nolte) to kill her, but gently. One day, she thinks of a peaceful death which would be just opposite to her miserable life. She then convinces Seymour to murder not only her, but all other poor souls like her who have grown tired of life. Soon, they find that there are several such people who would be willing to pay for this ‘courtesy.’ So, Grace, Seymour and his ditsy girlfriend Muriel (Kit Le Fever) conduct a business of killing the people who want to be free from their miserable lives.

This is a satirical comedy about an unsophisticated country boy who treks to Chicago, gets shot by mobsters and awakens to find that he has the powers of Superman. Jon Voight, Monique van Vooren and Severn Darden are in this film directed by Philip Kaufman.

Kallu (Amitabh Bachchan) lives with his brother, sister-in-law and niece. They are poor but happy. Kallu’s life is shattered when his brother comes up against the local mafia don, Shahani Seth (Amjad Khan), and is killed. Kallu swears revenge. He changes his identity to Kaalia, a master criminal, whose aim in life is to destroy Shahani Seth and his empire. The others in the cast are Asha Parekh, Parveen Babi and Pran. It is directed by Tinnu Anand.
