Remembering Harold Pinter through ‘The Homecoming’

Playwrights and theatre actors vouch by the works of late British playwright Harold Pinter, the Nobel Laureate who passed away in December 2008 after battling cancer. The British Library recently organised a book reading session to recall the life and works of the renowned playwright.

Prof. Sachidanand Mohanty, head of the department, English, University of Hyderabad, headed the session and was accompanied by four students from M.A. English literature. In the session that lasted a little over an hour, the audience of about 50 members were treated to a reading of his play, The Homecoming, followed by a discussion on Pinter’s works.
