In focus The Pareshaan singer is set to march ahead on the popularity list

Crooning glory Shalmali
Crooning glory Shalmali

After wowing the nation with the song Pareshaan from her debut movie Ishaaqzade , singer Shalmali Kholgade is set to prove her worth with more sensational numbers.

Her stunning debut track brought her into the country’s consciousness, Daru Desi further upped her fortunes, and now Shalmali is on the verge of making a hat-trick of hits with her latest song Aga Bai from the forthcoming film, Aiyya . Picturised on Rani Mukherjee, the overwhelmingly catchy track has received tremendous response both from critics and listeners alike; and continues its remarkable ascent up the music charts.

In fact, the music video has already received over 3 lakh views in only five days. What makes this song incredible is its fusion of Marathi sounding Hindi lyrics with contemporary Electronic Dance Music (EDM); adding a whole new dimension to ‘edgy creativity’.

Despite being a Maharashtrian, Shalmali admits that it was no easy task as she had to pay meticulous focus to the phonetics of the lyrics to complement the musical arrangement and picturisation, to get the desired impact.

Looks like all her attention to detail and hard workis paying off big time. One eagerly waits to see what Shalmali will pull out next, from her ‘musical hat’.
