Music Disney Channel launches its popular show “Ishaan - Sapnon Ko Awaaz De” as an album for children
T he popular show on Disney Channel, Ishaan - Sapno Ko Awaaz De, apart from being “the first musical for tweens on Indian television,” has added another feather to its cap by launching its music album. The album, which has nine tracks, is a compilation of songs from the show. The music ranges from contemporary pop to rock, love ballads, and even disco. There is also a bonus track by Bappi Lahiri.
“Bappi Lahiri's music transcends generations. So we decided to ask him to not only compose a track for us but also do a special appearance on the show. The track is titled ‘D.I.S.C.O' and has the inimitable Bappi da style,” says Arnab Chaudhuri, director (Content and Creative), Walt Disney Television International India. The album also comprises the works of other music directors such as Anand Ranganathan, Dhruv Ghanekar and Kaizad Gerda.
About Ishaan, Chaudhuri says, “Disney Channel has a legacy of musicals such as High School Musical, Camp Rock and, of course, Hannah Montana, which have been a global phenomena. Ishaan was a natural extension of this legacy.”
Ishaan is a story of a group of school friends who love music and want to make it big in the world of music and start their own band titled ‘Yaari'. Since the show revolves around friendship and fun, the music and lyrics too follow the same theme. ‘Jo Pyaar Ho Raha Hai' and ‘Sapno Ko Awaaz De' are a hit already. PRIYADARSHINI PAITANDY
