THEATRE A Kannada play fest is on

The Kala Premi Foundation, Bangalore and The Mysore Association, Bombay are jointly organising a festival of Kannada plays on June 1 and 2. The plays will be presented by the artists of the Fine Arts section of The Mysore Association, Bombay.

The Mysore Association is an eight-decade-old cultural organisation of Kannadigas in Mumbai, which serves as a cultural ambassador of Karnataka. The Mysore Association has produced over 400 plays, of which more than 35 have been written by its members.

Today, the group will stage Belli Bailu, a courtroom drama at 6 p.m., at Ravindra Kalakshetra auditorium. On June 2, they will present Sakara , a story of devotion and unquestioned faith, at 6.30 p.m., at Seva Sadan auditorium, Malleswaram 14{+t}{+h}cross. Both the plays are written and directed by Dr. B.R. Manjunath. The plays are open to all.
