GPS APPSHere are some free and inexpensive navigation apps that will get you to your destination in an innovative way

Providing free turn-by-turn instructions using the OpenStreetMap project, Skobbler has the opposite problem to Bike Hub, becoming less useful as soon as you go rural. The free app offers support for the first three digits of postcodes and both 2D and 3D maps are offered, along with POIs and, for routes of five km or less, a pedestrian option. GPS lock-on is quick, as is route calculation. Voice instructions are often late and rerouting is a little slow. Using an active data connection can be expensive, and is dependent on network coverage — again often lacking in rural areas. Look up www.skobbler.net
