On the occasion of Children’s Day, Rafiki presents The Fabulous Adventures of Aditi and Friends. Set in the present day, yet holding within it “all the flavours of a fairy tale”, the play is based on the series written by Suniti Namjoshi.

The play features a group of unlikely friends — an ant, an elephant, a monkey and little Aditi who set off to rescue their friend from “the clutches of an unreasonable giant, who lives inside Mount Vesuvius”. The scenes play out as a linear narrative, moving back and forth between the past and the present.

Directed by Anish Victor, The Fabulous Adventures of Aditi and Friends includes a fun mix of shadow puppets, music, dance and theatre. The cast includes Anuradha Shyam, Aruna M., Ashiqa Salvan, Ravindra Vijay, Rency Philip, Ruchi Raveendran and Sunaina M.

The play will be staged at the National Gallery of Modern Art today at 10 a.m. and 3 p.m. For bookings call 22342338.
