EVENT Launch of M.M. Khan's “Qiyasi Kash-ma-Kash”
W ell-known Urdu poet M.M. Khan's book “Qiyasi Kash-ma-Kash” was launched at Oxford Bookstore in the Capital in the presence of the author and his near and dear ones. The opening speech was given by Farhad, the author's son, who spoke about the journey till the launch of the book. “Qiyasi Kash-ma-Kash” shares the perpetual dilemma of the author on societal values and the constant search for illumination. The book reflects the author's thoughts on social values in order to achieve the natural state of harmony.
The author's spiritual connection with nature and ceaseless love for the same are reflected in his work. He also shares his respect for Khushwant Singh, well-known for his clear-cut secularism, wit and a deep passion for poetry.
Calling Singh his mentor, Khan thanked him for his contribution.The book has been translated into Hindi as well as English.
It was after his retirement that Khan starting devoting his leisure time to literature. On the book, he said, “My book is not mine but, in fact, the nation's, and is in three languages. I respect all the three languages, which is why I have transliterated my work in three languages.”
He also thanked the people who collaborated with him to bring out the book.
