Installing air conditioners and air coolers may be a way to comfort us but it is not the best way to overcome heat. To reduce the effect of heat we should eat water-rich food items that cool and refresh our body. Secondly, we should drink plenty of water because the exposure to sunlight causes dehydration in our body. The common ailments of summer such as boils, blisters and prickly heat can also be reduced by consuming more water. Wearing cotton clothes can reflect heat and reduce suffocation. It is better to avoid spicy food items because the spice would add to the body heat. Bathing twice a day can be beneficial.
