The Hindu MetroPlus Lifestyle Show in New Delhi promises to be a haven for shoppers

After impressing shoppers in Chennai, Bangalore and Hyderabad, The Hindu MetroPlus Lifestyle Show will woo the style conscious Delhiites come September.

Big names, bigger brands and an enviable ensemble of lifestyle products will make the show a “must see” for Delhiites. A statement in lifestyle, The Hindu MetroPlus Lifestyle Show, will unfold at Pragati Maidan from September 20 to 23. A prime event in the shopping calendar in most of the South Indian cities, the expo will open a new window to retail shopping for Delhiites.

The Hindu MetroPlus Lifestyle Show is surely a rare success story. And here lies the testimony. A show that began as a single city event in 2004 has now spread over to nine venues. The show is coming to New Delhi after travelling to Chennai, Hyderabad, Madurai and Vijayawada. By the end of the year, it would complete a tour of Bangalore, Kochi, Coimbatore and Vishakhapatnam.

On offer for the shoppers, all under one roof, will be a range of consumer durables. Sponsors and participants from India and across the world will showcase their wares here. You name it, they have it, automobiles, including swanky cars, consumer electronic goods, accessories for your home, kitchen and bathroom, computers and other IT products, textiles and jewellery, furniture, handicrafts and beauty and health products will find a place here.

Star-studded

A prelude to the event will be a star-studded fashion show that will give a peek into what is in store. Well-known models will walk the ramp showcasing different products.

Giving a South Asian flavour to the expo will be a special Thai pavilion. The 22 representatives from Thailand will bring to India quintessential Thai products. Stalls will showcase and put on sale the famous Thai silk flowers, classic Thai jewellery and clothing. Other representatives from abroad will showcase various Kenyan, Vietnamese and Pakistani products.

“We want to leverage the opportunity to the extent possible,” says Anisha Motwani, Director- Marketing, General Motors, one of the sponsors of the show. General Motors will be showcasing a range of cars, particularly the Chevrolet Spark and Chevrolet Optra diesel version, at the event. The show offers products that will make your house the perfect home, complete with interior décor and furniture. “I have been part of the Metroplus Lifestyle Show since its beginning,” says Sarabjeet Singh of Delhi-based “Poettry” that specialises in exquisite artefacts and furniture. “It is not often that I take part in shows in Delhi,” he says, adding, “On sale will be differently treated furniture. The furniture will be organic in nature and will be the product of a mix media – wood, stone ware, metal and glass.”

Another regular at the show and buoyed by the response he got in other cities, Rajesh Malhotra of Metroplus Lifestyle says, “I will put on show my garden and resort furniture. There will be pool-side recliners, chairs and tables. An attraction would be models made of golden teak.”
