SPIRITUAL TALE From "The Legend of Buddha"

Two animation features premiere on Cartoon Network this month

Two Indian animation features, "Son Of Alladin" and "The Legend of Buddha" will premiere on Cartoon Network this month. While "Son Of Alladin" is being telecast today at 2:00 p.m., "The Legend of Buddha" will be shown on June 25 at 12 noon. Produced by Chennai-based Pentamedia, the two feature-length animations take the tally of local animations acquired and showcased by Cartoon Network to eleven, with three of these launching in 2006. Premiering in the `Thanda Funda' programming block, "Son Of Alladin" is an action packed adventure about Mustafa, the prince of Basra, who is hunted by the evil sorcerer Zee Zee Ba. The story is about how the prince grows up totally oblivious of this, meets his ladylove and also rescues his long lost parents. The 80-minute film has been produced using motion capture technology and a photo realistic environment. Debuting on Cartoon Network Theatre is the classic 2D animation feature "The Legend of Buddha." This inspirational story details the journey of Prince Siddhartha of Kapilavastu. Despite every measure taken to ensure that the Prince leads a protected life of luxury and comfort, he witnesses the effects of old age, sickness and death during a tour of his city. These experiences prod him to pursue the true meaning and purpose of life and he leaves his home to embark on a journey of self-realisation.
