Book Mahi Jay, winner of a Harlequin contest, launches her first novel ‘ Falling for a Bollywood Legend’
Asuper-sexy hero and a heroine who tugs at his heart. Their passionate, forever kind of love… all these and more make a typical Mills and Boon novel. When Harlequin, leading publishers of books for women (with Mills and Boon novels as its USP) began a contest, it was a unique opportunity for Indian women story writers to showcase their work.
Among the hundreds of ‘love’ stories received for the competition was one written by Mahi Jay. She is the winner of ‘Passions Aspiring Author Auditions’ and is set to release her first book Falling for a Bollywood Legend .
Chennai-based Mahi, a management graduate, dabbled in retail and finance till she found her groove in writing. “When I got the go-ahead to write the novel, I was stumped,” she says. “This entire journey, from story to novel, has been a fantastic learning experience.”
Falling for a Bollywood Legend tells the story of Aadith Varma, the hottest guy in Bollywood and ultimate romantic hero. Nina Shah is the best PR person in the business. When fate brings them together, they both face a slight awkwardness as they have a past. For Mahi, who used to swap more romantic novels than study notes with friends, this seems the perfect vocation. (Falling for a Bollywood Legend is available in bookstores for Rs. 125)
