SPOILT FOR CHOICEMelt in the mouth sizzlers

Sizzlers are one of my favourite meals; they have an array of vegetables, cheese and loads of meats and sauces. Tangerine, a restaurant near the Koramanagala Sony centre, aims at making sizzlers popular across the country and serves up a brilliant array of dishes. The dim lights at the restaurant and the lit up junctions of a busy city, as people made their way back home makes up for the ambience, aided by art works by various artists that adorn the wall.

We start the meal with portions of the soft crab cakes, which melt in the mouth and provide a tangy aftertaste with the sauces on offer. The crunchy calamari rings are also a definite must try. The smoked chicken bruschetta, with olives, garlic and cheese serve on warm toasted bread tastes excellent and is great to nibble on as you wait for the main course to arrive. Vegetarians can also choose to sample the delightful potato skins, flavoured and topped with mushrooms and baby corn. In soups, we would recommend the spicy chicken and coriander soup, which is flavoured with coconut milk and makes for an excellent start to the meal.

We attack the pastas and lasagnes next, digging into the creamy layers of chicken and vegetables with great gusto. The Lasagne Bolognese is brilliant, oodles of cheese served with minced chicken. Now coming to the actual deal; the sizzlers, we wolfed down the superbly done fillet of fish york, fish fillets, fried in bread crumbs served with tarter sauce. Though a little oily, the fish is fried to perfection and tastes excellent with the tangy tarter sauce. All sizzlers are served with boiled vegetables (asparagus, baby corn, cauliflower and potatoes). If you like a hint of rice with your sizzlers, try out the chicken stroganoff, with an assortment of chicken, mushrooms and pepper served in a buttery sauce with an assortment of vegetables. Apart from this collection of sizzlers and continental food, Tangerine also offers many Indian dishes as well. Tangerine is located at No 52, 100 Feet Road, Koramangala. Call 41152679.
