BigAdda, a part of the Reliance ADA group, has launched its Indian youth networking site The site enables networking and self-expression by creating, uploading and sharing videos and photos in a public, yet private, space. Some of the features of this youth destination include blogs and scribbles which help users express their opinions, make comments and connect addas (communities).

BigAdda plans to garner a user base of 10 million customers by 2010. It also plans to introduce a music vertical for uploading, streaming and sharing of user play lists. A web instant messenger and wireless interface are also to be introduced soon. The biggest advantage offers is anywhere, anytime connectivity. So you can network 24X7.

As communities are key drivers of growth in the networking business, BigAdda has associated with five youth icons to drive their communities online. Glamour photographer Atul Kasbekar will provide a sneak peek at his shoots and spearhead a mobile photo contest where users will be encourage to shoot and upload photos from their mobiles from which Atul will shortlist the best. The winner will get a chance to work on an assignment with Atul.

Music wizard Shankar Mahadevan will drive the Music Adda. He will encourage the youth to compose and share their original music. One shortlisted contestant will get a chance to meet with Shankar and release an album through Big Music Label.

Irina Brar, top golfer, will create a Sports Adda which will drive a community specially focussing on girls in sports.

Young filmmaker Madhur Bhandarkar will steer the video category and promote youngsters to share original scripts and video stories.

Diya Mirza will steer the movies category and promote her fan club.

Music, fashion, movies and sport cut across all segments and age groups. The idea is to create a platform where fans/users can talk/share with their icon their views.
