Hyderabadi crooner Tina is all set to cut an Indi-Pop album shortly

Riding on the popularity wave with her Telugu debut album Maya released on Aditya Music, the tracks are scorching the regional music channels and still doing good at the music stands after the album hit the stores last December, this young crooner from Hyderabad decides to take it a step further. Read get on the Channel [V], MTV and rest of national music space on the tube. Planning to release her Hindi debut cover You Are Mine featuring semi classical, hip hop and more, Tina is hopping between Mumbai for the launch soon this month as well as training there in hip hop, belly dancing and other dance forms."Times have changed. Today playback singers do not want to be in the background. These days singers should be performers," she says.Trained in Carnatic vocals Tina has done stage shows including the 10K Run do and has quite a few offers from the Telugu and Hindi film industries respectively. Actors she would like to sing for are, "Madhuri Dixit and Aishwarya Rai," says the artiste who has Madonna, Shania Twain and Lata Mangeshkar on her `favourites' list and adds the same tang to her songs.

Designs on stage

Back to her cover, "the songs are written by many Hindi lyricists such as Prabha Singh and Rocky Khanna (producer as well) while R. Sharma wrote the lyrics for the Telugu cover that was released by Devisri Prasad. Music is composed by Sunny, Suman, Demello, Krishnavasa and others for the various songs. Hyderabad has many good studios with excellent equipment and talented sound engineers that have to get recognised," she says. Post release Tina is looking forward to live shows as also launching her designer label. "I am interested in apparel designing," says the fashion-designing student turned signer who has Gisele Bundchen for an icon.Make way for the diva from the south who is all set to set the stage and playback realm ablaze next.SYEDA FARIDA
