Director K. Balachander is said to be a perfectionist. The Dada Saheb Phalke award winner is famous for planning everything to the last detail. However, what's interesting is this is confined to not just his films. This was evident at a college function he attended recently. He had his speech prepared — he gave the students 31 useful nuggets, one for a day each of a month. Sample this — ‘Don't get angry; it swallows happiness. And, remember anger is slow poison.'
Bond with the best
Actor Prasanna is a happy man. He'll be sharing screen space with actor-director Cheran in “Muran”. “I'm lucky to have had some of the bests in the industry — my first film ‘Five Star' was for director Mani Ratnam's Madras Talkies. Then came Radha Mohan's ‘Azhagiya Theeye' and Priya's ‘Kanda Naal Muthal'. In Arun Vaidyananthan's ‘Achamundu Achamundu', I got to work with John Shea, an Oscar winner. I have become choosy about my films, and want to be part of some good films.”
S.R. ASHOK KUMAR
On a winning streak
She won hearts with “Saroja” and “Pasanga”. And, has added another feather in her cap — the latest “Vaanam”.
“When people wanted to sign me after ‘Pasanga', I'd already bagged a couple of offers. But, when ‘Vaanam' came my way, I could not say no to such an impressive story. In fact, it's now one of my favourite films to have released recently. I'm looking at signing for a few more worthy projects in Tamil.”
