Kochaidaiyaan to release in September

The first phase of shooting of Tamil superstar Rajinikanth's upcoming period film Kochaidaiyaan has been completed and the movie is slated for release in September this year, a Chennai —based production firm said today.

“The first schedule of shooting at London has been completed and shooting in India has commenced,” Mediaone Global Entertainment, producing the film, said in a statement.

Bollywood actress Deepika Padukone is the heroine and the music scored by double Oscar awardee A R Rahman. Rajinikanth's daughter Soundarya R Ashwin is directing the movie under the supervision of director—actor K S Ravikumar. The film is likely to be released in Telugu, English, Hindi and Japanese.

That 80s effect

The much-hyped song featuring Nathalia Kaur in Department , Dan Dan , will owe it to Rajnikanth's 80s hit Adhutha Vaarisu if it becomes a chartbuster.

The tune for the opening lines has been inspired by the Tamil hit Aasai Nooru Vagai . Ram Gopal Varma states that he liked the song and asked Dharam Sandeep to use a 30-second composition on those lines to pay a tribute to the Rajnikanth starrer.
