Director Elred Kumar, who recently released “Muppozhudum Un Karpanaigal” featuring Atharvaa and Amala Paul in the lead, is to release the Telugu version of the film by either the last week of April or the first week of May. And this, he says, will be a full-fledged version unlike the Tamil one with 32 cuts mandated by the Censor Board.
Says Elred Kumar: “The Censor Board insisted on 32 cuts in the Tamil version before giving it a ‘U' certificate and I agreed to it to avail the tax exemption that's given to films with a ‘U' certificate. However, in Andhra, with no such exemption available, people will get to see the full-fledged version. Therefore, while the plot remains the same, the screenplay will be different in Telugu.”
That's not all. The director, who has immense faith in the original script of the film and the manner in which it was made before the cuts were effected, also has plans of releasing a second version of the film in Tamil.
Informs Elred kumar, “In fact, we are also looking at the possibility of releasing a second version of the film in Tamil. This version will be like the Telugu version without any cuts and I don't mind the film getting an ‘A' certificate this time.”
