Sakinalu is a traditional snack from Telangana that is made during Sankranti.
It is a crispy snack made from rice flour and sesame.
A lot of care is needed to prepare the snack. It is first offered to Sun God and then thereafter eaten, traditionally along with chutneys or “allam” made of tomato, mint or ginger.
At times, it is also ground to powder form to help aged people (without dents) consume it and enjoy the festive moments.
