June 19 is the big day, and Manisha will be wearing a Sabyasachi creation — a red with green border sari with zardosi work, and a typical Nepali blouse — knotted at the sidesfor the ‘ saat pheras'. For the reception, she will wear a ‘lehnga', designed by Anna Singh.
Samrat will wear the ‘daura surwal and topi' for the ceremony and a designer suit for the reception. Her friend Palomi is designing the jewellery. They are planning a mehndi and sangeet too, though it's not really part of their custom. And, of course, the ‘bidai', when she will leave her parents' home for Samrat's.
As for the honeymoon, Kerala backwaters may just be the destination. “I've told Samrat about the beauty of Kerala, and if not for our honeymoon, we will certainly be there another time.”
