In focus VRun, launched recently is a blend of consulting services for the NRI customers
It’s your parents’ wedding anniversary and you want to surprise them with a special lunch at their favourite restaurant. So, what’s the hitch? You are living in the U.S. and feeling disappointed for not being able to put your plan into action.
You have help at hand in the form of Venkatesh Siruvuri, who has launched a new service for NRIs living in the Big Apple. Called VRun, it is a blend of consulting services for the NRI customers.
Venkatesh took a cue from his own life. “My close friends and family live in the US and I was the single point of contact for them in India. They would depend on me for everything. I was doing it for a couple of years like sending goods or offering moral support here in India. After a point they were not comfortable as they had to solely depend on me. I thought about those NRIs whose families live in India and have no support. I discussed it with some of my friends and VRun was born,” he says.
With a corporate HR background, it was easy for Venkatesh to put things into action. “I used to have a good network of friends and we took four months to do ground work and build our network before we started off,” he says.
At present VRun (launched on April 16) offers five services like health check ups, property management – under construction or established property, shipping service, celebrating special days and hospitality service which also includes ticketing services.
“We will coordinate with the event management company and organise special days like anniversaries as per the members’ wishes. The celebrations will be uploaded online and the members can view it and be virtually a part of the gathering,” he says.
The company collects $50 as the annual fee and another $50 as the credit limit.
