The Raintree Hotel bags the Golden Peacock Award

The Raintree Hotel, South India’s only Ecotel hotel, wins the Golden Peacock Award. Akash Gupta, General Manager of the hotel, received it from Dr. Ola Ullsten, former Prime Minister of Sweden and at present, Chairman, World Council for Corporate Governance. Mr. Gupta says best practices in ecology preservation are a way of life at the hotel. “There are less than 50 Ecotel hotels all over the world. A clear indication of the stringent norms that need to be adhered to… All staff are trained to adhere to three ‘R’s — Reduce (wastage in any form), Re-use (water, paper) and Recycle (water, paper). We are proud to have been awarded the 5-Globes certification by HVS International, the global certifying authority for Ecotel Hotels,” says Mr. Gupta.
