EVENT The Long Way Home by Evam will be staged on October 6

Evam presents The Long Way Home . The play has been directed by Karthik Kumar and the cast includes Anita Ratnam, Amrutha Varshini and Lakshmi Priyaa C.

Written by Shekinah, this play is a story of mothers and daughters, and finding lost childhood. It revolves around Sheila, a widow, who lands up uninvited at her younger daughter Shikha’s house on the pretext of arranging a suitable man for her to marry, but what she really longs to do is to improve their relationship. 30-year-old Shikha is pre-occupied with her own inner demons and a painful past, and stakes her happiness on finding her sister’s baby. Her elder sister Meera is coming to terms with her own loss and is both the bridge and the chasm that defines their relationships. The play offers a keyhole view into the lives of three women- with a shared past that both unites them and threatens to destroy them; they are forced to embark on a journey that they have been putting off all their lives, until now.

The Long Way Home will take place on October 6 at 3.30 p.m. and 7.30 p.m. at the Museum Theatre. The duration of the play is 75 minutes.
