Andrew Zimmerman immerses himself in people and their food

A nine-part series, ‘Andrew Zimmern's Bizarre World' will air every Sunday at 10 p.m. on Discovery Travel and Living.

Andrew Zimmern is a food writer, TV personality, chef, teacher, and is regarded as one of the most versatile and knowledgeable personalities in the food world.

He visits places such as South Africa, and Germany to explore the most bizarre foods and the unusual food traditions across the world. In Cuba, Andrew takes part in an often misunderstood Santeria ritual that leaves him covered in blood, devours one of the biggest tree rats he's ever seen, and discovers what it takes to grow world-class tobacco.

In Wisconsin, he wades through macaroni, cheese pizza and duck blood soup.

He also takes time to chuck cow pies for distance, deliver mail by boat, bat a baseball in snowshoes and help make one of the smelliest cheeses in America.
