The value for female life in our society still stands low. Economic conditions and cultural ethos don't give a chance for the girl child to survive. Many girl children in our country suffer malnutrition, lack of medical care and societal atrocities. Apart from this, the media portray women as helpless, docile, orthodox and vulnerable, and predominantly as sex objects. Violence against women still exists in many ugly forms. Empowerment in real sense should give a life of freedom, choice, opportunities and dignity.
