Nine nights of celebration

Event Isha Yoga Center presents an array of cultural programmes and a handicrafts exhibition to keep the spirit of Navarathri alive

Celebrate this Navarathri at Isha Yoga Center , Velliangiri Foothills from October 5 to 14. There will be poojas, cultural programmes and a handicrafts exposition.

Rama Ravi will begin the nine-day celebrations with a Carnatic music recital on October 5. Sugandha Kalamegham will present a Carnatic music kutcheri on October 6.

There will be a veena recital by D. Balakrishna on October 7. Watch Purisai Sambandan perform Therukoothu on October 8. Villu Paattu, a traditional form of story telling, will be staged on October 9.

Bharatanatyam danceuse Uma Maheshwari will perfome on October 10. Sri Ranjani Santhanagopalan will present her vocal music concert on October 11 and Shreya Devnath will play violin on October 12.

Enjoy a puppet show, by Karaikal Kalaimamani Kesavasamy and group, on October 13. The event concludes with a vocal music concert by Ranjani Ramachandran on October 14. The centre will also hold Dandiyaraas, every night.

Crafts of India

Stone and metal crafts, Manipuri black stone pottery, Kerala mural arts… Choose from a range of traditional handicrafts at Hands of Grace, a craft exposition featuring 60 groups from all over India from October 9 to 13, from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m.
