My Son is Gay, revived in Tamil

The film, directed by Lokesh, stars Anupama Kumar, Jayaprakash and Kishore

Actors Anupama Kumar, Jayaprakash and Kishore have come together to work in the upcoming Tamil drama, My Son is Gay , a story about the emotional relationship between a mother and her gay son.

Debutant filmmaker Lokesh Kumar is directing and producing the film, which will go on the floors next month in Kerala.

“Originally, we planned to make the film in Hindi. However, due to the language barrier and budget constraints, it never took off, despite receiving initial funding. We’re now reviving it in Tamil, and I’m extremely fortunate to be working with a very supportive team,” Lokesh said.

Lokesh says the film is not for audiences who seek entertainment from cinema. “It falls in the category of parallel cinema. Like Visaaranai , we plan to send our film to as many film festivals as possible,” he added.

Ashwin Jith will essay the role of a gay boy.
