A special edition of R. K. Narayan's autobiography "My Days"
Landmark, along with the Editor-in-Chief of The Hindu, N. Ram, pays homage to one of the greatest authors of his time, R. K. Narayan by showcasing the launch of a special edition of "My Days", an autobiography of the author, this evening at 6.30 at Apex Plaza, Nungambakkam. The event is to commemorate the birth centenary of the author. The creator of Malgudi and the legendary Swami, the author speaks about his life in a simple and lucid style in "My Days." The book is in three sections, the first dealing with his school days in Madras, when after having failed in English he discovered his passion for writing. The second section narrates the obstacles encountered by him before he could get his first book "Swami and Friends" published. There is a detailed account of his marriage, the birth of his daughter and the untimely death of his wife that left him devastated. The third section portrays him as an established, contented writer known worldwide."My Days", published by Indian Thought Publication is a collector's edition with illustrations by R. K. Narayan's brother R. K. Laxman and rare photographs of his early years.
