Broken wheat halwa

Ingredients

Broken wheat – 1 cup, soaked overnight

Sugar – 3 cups

Yellow / orange food colour – A few drops

Cardamom powder – Half tsp

Ghee – Half tsp

Method

Grind the soaked broken wheat and filter to extract the milk. In a large microwavable bowl, take three cups sugar. Add surface-level water. Microwave on medium heat for 4-5 minutes, depending on the water. When the sugar dissolves completely, add the wheat milk. Stir in the yellow or orange food colour. Add cardamom powder. Microwave (on medium heat) for 20 minutes.

And then, stir it once and again put it for another 20 minutes on medium heat. Add half teaspoon ghee. Microwave for a few seconds. Pour it into a ghee-smeared plate. Level the surface. When the wheat halwa cools, cut it with a knife. Serve warm and fresh...

Zero-fat palpayasam

Ingredients

Milk – 2 cups

Rice – 1 tsp

Sugar – 2-3 tbsp

Method

Take a large microwavable bowl. Coat the upper rim with a thin coating of ghee. (The milk will not spill, this way.) Wash and put the rice in the milk. Cook in medium heat for approx. 10 minutes. Stir again. Microwave in medium heat for another 10 minutes.

Check if the rice is completely cooked. Sprinkle 2-3 tbsp sugar. Microwave for another 2-3 minutes. Serve hot with a pinch of elaichi...
