The famous long-necked tribals from Thailand, an indigenous tribal community from the Philippines as well as indigenous people from Manipur, Assam, Meghalaya and South India will meet in Shillong next month to participate in the third Mei Ram-ew festival, a slow food movement that promotes indigenous culture along with good, clean and fair food. More than 20 participants from India, Thailand and the Philippines will showcase indigenous food, culture and music at the two-day event to be held on 14 and 15 December at the famous Mawphlang sacred groves. — PTI
