EVENT Senior composer Jerry Amaldev is in town with a performance of the choral group established by him

Well-known music composer who has created some of Malayalam’s most memorable melodies, Jerry Amaldev is in Delhi with his choral group Sing India With Jerry Amaldev.

The group will perform at Siri Fort on April 14. The group was formed in 2010 and comprises around 30 members. It sings songs spanning various cultures, languages and ages like western songs, American pop, Christmas carols and film hits of Jerry Amaldev. Jerry received in vocal music under S.C.R. Bhat and K.G. Ginde in Mumbai. He also worked with Naushad in films like Aadmi, Palki, Ram aur Shyam, Sanghursh, Dil Diya Dard Liya and Saathi .

Jerry garnered much fame in Malayalam music industry and has worked with stalwarts there. For his first film itself Navodaya’s Manjil Virinja Pookkal , he bagged Kerala State Award for excellence in music direction. He also composed, conducted, recorded and synchronized the background score for the Tamil version of Franco Zefirelli’s Jesus of Nazareth .

In 2010, he formed Sing, India with Jerry Amaldev and now a days, the senior musician is busy conducting concerts of SIWJA, music workshops, teaching in music colleges and recording music albums.
