Try some excellent Punjabi food at The Terrace Garden

Be it a business meeting, romantic dinner or a family outing, there is a new addition to the list of eateries in town that could be given a try. The Terrace Garden Lounge at The TDI Mall, Rajouri Garden serves some excellent Indian food, mostly the traditional Punjabi recipes. The menu offers a wide range of vegetarian as well as non-vegetarian dishes.

Dahi ke kabab in the vegetarian starters range (priced between Rs.200 and 300) is delightful. It is a grilled combination of curd, cheese and honey.

For the non-vegetarians there is a wide range of fish, prawn and mutton recipes, priced in the range of Rs.200 to 500. Oil used in these preparations is said to be bare minimum. The main course has dal makhani, paneer khurchan, Goan fish, nahari gosht, murg makhani and more, priced in the range of Rs.150 to 350. The biryani varieties prove the mettle of the chefs.

Though Punjabi food has lot of chillies and spices, The Terrace Lounge uses less of these in its dishes. A not to be missed item in the menu is the chaat. The kurkuri kamal kakadi dahi chaat made of crispy lotus stem is a mouth watering treat worth its cost.

The head chef, Narendra Yadav, has a team of talented chefs. “Only good quality stuff leads to good money. If the dishes are good and accepted by customers only then the cook survives,” is what he beleives.

The Terrace Lounge, equipped with mist fans and cooling equipments, has seating arrangements for 70-odd people on the terrace apart from an open garden where children could play. A panoramic view of the nearby Metro station serves as an added attraction.
