Ingredients for lamb chop
Lamb chops -3
Ginger garlic paste- 3 tsp
Chilli powder- 1 tsp
Curd – 2 tsp
Star anise powder- 5 gm
Sugar – a pinch
Desi mustard paste
Salt – as required
Lime juice – half tsp
Oil
Chilli tomato sauce-1 tsp
Marinate the lamb chops with the above ingredients leave it for an hour. Grill the lamb chop and top it with chilli-tomato sauce
Ingredients for upma
Green chillies (chopped) – 1 small
Ginger (minced finely) – a small piece
(about 1 inch long)
Onion (chopped into fine pieces) – half
medium
Curry leaves – a sprig
Rava/wheat semolina (sooji) – half cup
Mustard Seeds – 5 gm
Oil – 1 tbsp
Salt – as required
Water – 1 cup
Turmeric powder- as required
Method
Lightly fry the rava in a non-stick pan until it turns light brown. Stir continuously. Add 2 tbsp oil in another pan and splutter mustard seeds, add turmeric powder.
Add onions, green chillies, red chillies and curry leaves and sauté till the onions become tender. Add ginger and sauté for two more minutes. Add water and a little salt and allow it to boil. Add the fried rava into the boiling water stirring continuously, so that no lumps are formed. Cover the pan and cook on low heat for five minutes approximately. If the upma is dry, add a few more tablespoons of water and close the pan and cook for two more minutes. Serve with grilled brinjal, baby carrot, chopped mango jelly and tamarind dates paste.
