A mega sale at the Subramaniam Hall on May 25 will have more than 60 stalls

It's pegged to be the sale of the decade with dozens of stalls catering to all the lifestyle needs of a family, especially women. The Ladies Forum, a group of women from the Trivandrum Club, organises this “mega” lifestyle sale on May 25 at the Subramaniam Hall from 10 a.m. to 8.30 p.m.

“There will be about 60 stalls at the sale, displaying a variety of products made [mostly] for women by women,” says Prabha John, secretary of the Ladies Forum.

“Most of the women who will be putting up stalls are entrepreneurs from across Kerala and this is an opportunity for them to reach out to customers in the city,” adds Prabha as her friends and fellow organisers Kokila Perumal, Girly John, Reena Thomas and Lincy Mathew enthusiastically start listing the things that will be on display: “Hand-embroidered saris and salwar sets, designer wear from boutiques, handmade jewellery, temple jewellery, readymade T-shirts, home linen, handmade eco-friendly bags, Tupperware, dry flowers…” This is the second such sale by the Ladies Forum after their first one a decade or so ago.

The sale, though, is not limited to clothes, accessories and home furnishings. There are also food stalls with homemade treats to eat in and/or take away plus plentiful preserved delicacies.

You can also get deals from hotels, travel shops, banks, real estate firms, jewellery shops and so on. In one stall you can check out a cooking demonstration and in another you can even get your eyebrow tattooed by an expert from a city-based beauty parlour.

A play area, games and competitions for children will keep them occupied while their moms shop.

Entry tickets cost Rs.20, which can be used throughout the day. A draw based on the ticket will be held at 7 p.m. on the day of the sale. and 15 prizes will be given away.
