Keeping in touch

print   ·   T  T

Friendship today is a transient feature. People don’t have time for their friends as they are too caught up in the daily routine. When an old friend drops in unexpectedly on a Sunday afternoon, instead of warmly welcoming him/her, you groan at the prospect of entertaining the friend as you have to forgo your afternoon nap. I grew up at a time when friends were really important and I am still in touch with them. Youngsters have to survive in a tough and competitive world and the buzzword is networking and getting new contacts who rarely become friends in the true sense.
