CHAT I love eating mutton biryani at a couple of places in Delhi, says Kalki Koechlin

Many years from now, Kalki Koechlin will be remembered for being an unconventional actor who managed to find her groove in a hero-first Bollywood. With her sultry looks and a talent to brighten up any role given to her, Kalki is here for a long innings. She was in New Delhi recently for the launch of Grey Goose Syle du Jour (Style of Today) and took the opportunity to talk of things other than films.

A successful actor who has impressed film-going audience with her stellar performances in films like Dev D , Shanghai and Shaitan , Kalki, unlike many actors, do not appear in public with cakes of make-up or heavy jewellery. At the event in Delhi, she was seen in a one-piece long black dress with minimal accessories and make-up. In fact, she appeared like any modern-day working woman out on an assignment. Working girl Kalki certainly is, as she balances a blooming career with the demands of being a star wife. Remember, she is popular and successful filmmaker Anurag Kashyap’s wife too.

She said despite her busy schedule, she takes out time to look after herself. “I believe in complete fitness. I do swimming as part of regular workout. I do yoga when at home and do not hit the gym.”

Kalki has simple tastes when it comes to food and avoids too much of ghee and butter. “I do eat everything, I am not a vegetarian. But when I am at home, I eat simple dal-roti and vegetables.” However, when she is out shooting or promoting products, she prefers to enjoy the local cuisine. Kalki admittedly spoils herself with chocolates. “I love eating chocolates, particularly dark chocolate.” Then she burns it all with yoga and swimming. About forthcoming movies, she said she will be seen in Ek Thi Daayan and Yeh Jawaani Hain .
