Music for a reason
As part of the Joy of Giving week, observed between October 2 and 8, Hyderabad will witness a series of concerts at Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan, King Koti Road, Basheerbagh. The first concert to be held today will feature vocal rendition by Trichur Brothers. The concert will serve as a platform to spread awareness on Mental Health and Suicide Prevention, organised by the SEVA counselling centre.
Continuing through this week, music lovers can look forward to performances by eminent artistes organised by Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan and Ragalaya. Ragalaya is a group of volunteers engaged in supporting mental health, value education, awareness towards thalassemia and organ donation.
On October 3, Sikkil Gurucharan and Anil Srinivasan will perform. Krishna Chaitanya and his team will sing Telugu and Hindi film songs on October 5 and on October 6, look forward to a concert by Nithyasree Mahadevan.
All the events begin at 6.30 p.m.
Donate and share the joy
Acharity dinner is being organised for the Joy of Giving as part of the voluntary initiatives. The black tie charity dinner ‘Food for Change’ will be held in aid of Project 511 on October 6 at N Convention.
Project 511 is a charity organisation of Hyderabad Round Table 8 Charitable Trust, and works with 1022 government schools in Hyderabad and Ranga Reddy districts.
The charity dinner, which will witness the presence of several celebrities and dignitaries from the city, will be a platform to raise funds to enhance the quality of education in government schools.
Those interested can attend the gala evening by purchasing donor passes priced at Rs. 4000 each. A statement issued by the organisers states that the proceeds collected through the event will directly go to the initiatives of Project 511 and not be used to cover the expenses of the event.
