Of latest designs from tomorrow

The third Gem and Jewellery India Exhibition (GJIIE 2007) will be held at the Chennai Trade Centre, Nandambakkam, from March 2 to 5. Organised by the Madras Jewellers and Diamond Merchants Association, the exhibition brings together manufacturers from all over the country to showcase latest designs.The focus will be on gold, the theme this year. There will be innovative displays such as an exclusive Kerala pavilion that will showcase lightweight jewellery and a Jaipur jewellery stall that will display kundan, minakari and gemstone jewellery. Top brands in gold and diamonds will also participate. A fashion show on the theme `Bridal jewellery' will be a major attraction. Seminars at the venue will provide information on upgrading skills and improving productivity in the jewellery business. There will also be live demonstrations of jewellery making at the venue by mastercraftsmen.
