MacTrics’ International MiMe TheaTre FesTival is on today and tomorrow

An eclectic group of mummers from colleges, corporates and professional mime theatre groups have come together on a single stage in the first edition of Mime Theatre Festival 2014. MacTrics organises this festival in a bid to revive this art of expression, popularised by the likes of Charlie Chaplin and Marcel Marceau. It unites mummers from across borders bringing together amateurs and professionals on a single stage. Under the mentorship of the late Mitran Devanesan, MacTrics — a mime and body theatre group was started by Victor Jayaraj and Sravanth in 2009. With more than 300 shows, training students and corporates in the various nuances of mime and theatre, MacTrics has carved a niche for itself in the theatre scenario in Chennai.

The participants for March 22 are Infosys, OSI Consulting, Eclipse Media Works and VA Tech WABAG. For March 23 the groups are Edith Baudoin (France), Ofra Hoffman (France), Padma Shri Niranjan Goswami and Blaze Academy (John).
