EVENT Italian Film Festival in the city from January 19 to January 21

T he Indo Cine Appreciation Foundation, in association with the Italian Embassy Cultural Centre, New Delhi, and the Indo Italian Chamber, Chennai, organises an Italian Film Festival from January 19 to 21 at the South Indian Film Chamber Theatre, 606, Anna Salai.

The festival opens with the screening of the film “Tutta Colpa di Giuda” (All the Fault of Judas) at 6.45 p.m. on January 19.

"Tutta Colpa di Giuda" is a musical comedy set in a prison where the inmates are participating in a workshop, which is an all-dancing, all-singing reinterpretation of the Crucifixion.

Watch “I Giorni Dell'Abbandono” (The Days of Abandonment) on January 20, 6.45 p.m. Olga, a mother of two, is abandoned by her husband for a younger woman. This plunges her into despair. How she comes out of it forms the plot.

On January 21, 6.45 p.m. “Santa Maradona” will be screened. Andrea Straniero, 27 years old, has just graduated from University with a useless degree. He spends his days looking for a job, idling away his time talking to room-mate Bart and Indo-Italian friend Lucia. Everything changes when he meets Dolores, a beautiful teacher and actress.

Besides, short films will be screened — January 19: “Aspettando il treno” (Waiting for the Train), “Il cuore all'improvviso” (Miranda's Journey) and “Stesso posto stessa ora” (Same Place Same Time); January 20: “Fuori dal giro” (Left out), “Offerte speciali” (Today's Special) and “Bobbolone”; January 21: “Due bravi ragazzi” (Two Brave Boys), Sul mare luccica (It Glitters on the Sea) and “Trilogia del giorna” (Trilogy of the Day).
