Max Mueller Bhavan and Attakkalari Centre for Movement Arts present “Civic Mimic Bangalore” by Richard Siegal. “Civic Mimic”, say the organisers, explores the gathering of people in urban and public spaces, the conditions of belonging and exclusion. It also seeks to bring the public into a shared attitude of the conditional.
Richard Siegal is the founder and artistic director of The Bakery Paris–Berlin (2005). He has won awards like the New York Dance and Performance Bessie Award, The German National Theater Faust Award, S.A.C.D. Prize, a Beaumarchais, and The Mouson Award to name a few.
Richard has also been an Artist-in-Residence at ZKM/Karlsruhe, Bennington College and The Baryshnikov Arts Center.
The show is the result of a two-week choreography workshop by the artist for the Attakkalari Repertory Company. It will be held on January 27 at 6.45 p.m. at the Attakkalari Studios, 24-04, BTS Bus Depot Road, 1st Cross, Wilson Garden. For details call 25205305/6/7/8 or log on to http://www.goethe.de/bangalore.
