Event A tribute performance featuring the evergreen hits of P.B. Sreenivos was held recently

‘PBS Oru Sagaaptam’, a soulful tribute was recently organised by Sharan Incorporation to remember the legendary P.B. Sreenivos’ contributions to the field of music. The programme was held at Kamaraj Arangam.

SPB Fans Association and ABBAS cultural also participated in the event with well-known singer S. P. Balasubrahmanyam leading the proceedings on the stage.

Maestro M. S. Viswanathan, celebrated music composer Ilaiyaraaja, music director Vidya Sagar and singers Vani Jairam, Chitra, S. P. Sailaja, S. P. Charan, Karthik, Tippu, Harini, Vijay Yesudas, Srilekha, T. L. Maharajan, Chinmayee, theatre artiste Y. Gee. Mahendra and many others participated.

PBS’ all-time hits were rendered. H. Vasantha Kumar, chairman, Vasanth group of companies and A. Nityagopal, managing director, Sri Kamalini Productions, Hyderabad, were the special guests.

Pranavam, a book written by PBS in eight languages was released by M.S. Viswanathan and the first copy was received by Ilaiyaraaja.

Those present on the occasion spoke about PBS’ inimitable musical spirit and his record writing of 2,50,000 songs.
