TRAVEL Celebrate Valentine’s Day in the Arctic and look out for the Northern Lights

What could be better than a romantic Valentine’s Day amidst the Arctic ice caps? The WOW (Women on Wanderlust) club is back with a seven-nights, eight-days trip to the Arctic, from February 8 to 15, 2013.

The trip includes a medieval experience with a visit to the Toompea castle built in 1773 and the 14-15 century Gothic Town Hall in Tallinn’s Old Town in Estonia. The tour moves on to Helsinki where guests will be taken on a visit to Temppeliaukio the famous “Rock Church”, the Sibelius Monument, the Uspenski Russian Orthodox Cathedral, the Senate Square and the green-domed Lutheran Cathedral, the symbol of Helsinki.

The visit at Helsinki will also include a ‘design’ tour which will include a visit to the Design Forum and Design Museum.

At Rovaniemi, located in the Arctic Circle in Lapland, the tour will include a visit to the Santa Claus Village, a husky safari into the white wilderness for five kilometres, a visit to an ice restaurant, a night reindeer safari to search for the Aurora Borealis, also known as the Northern Lights and an Arktikum Musuem tour.

The trip will end at Santamus where the guests will be treated to one final surprise to culminate all the memories gathered in the week.

The package costs Rs. 1.71 lakh on a twin sharing basis excluding air fare, with an early bird offer of Rs. 7,500 if payment of Rs. 75,000 is made before December 31. Single room charges will be an additional cost of Rs. 32,000. For further details log on to
