CHAT International hair expert Diego Perez offers exclusive hair care tips
B ad hair days. Aren't we all familiar with them? For some, such days last longer than usual. When we lose hair in clumps or our hair is brittle or our scalp constantly itches, panic ensues, and desperate measures are resorted to. Some even cut off their long locks for better maintenance. Changing shampoos and using a combination of hair packs only provide temporary relief. Is there hope? Are you waiting for that miracle that will turn things around for your tresses? Hair expert Diego Perez seems to have the answers.
Diego Perez, on behalf of the international hair treatment brand from France Rene Furterer, gave tips on hair care. “Rene Furterer's priority is to focus on the scalp. A healthy scalp is the secret to beautiful hair,” Diego says. Introduced by Modi Revlon in India, Rene Furterer products and hair treatments are custom-made to address various hair problems.
Stress, poor diet, pollution and stimulated shampoos with abrasive chemicals can damage the scalp. “Hair fall can be divided into two broad categories: progressive and reactional. The former is due to hormonal imbalance and the latter happens because of stress, a poor diet, etc.,” Diego explains. He suggests Rene Furterer's products have both therapeutic and aromatic qualities. “Our shampoos are made of essential oils that clean and stimulate the scalp thoroughly. Also, if you are stressed, the pleasant scent of the oils relaxes you. At Rene Furterer we focus on an intensive 3-step treatment programme — prepare, wash and treat,” he says.
For those who have dandruff, Diego suggests they should use their “Naturia” shampoo everyday. “Washing your hair is important. If the scalp is dirty, the sebum glands enlarge, which cuts oxygen supply to the roots, resulting in hair fall,” he explains.
Rene Furterer also has on offer two other treatments —The Carthame Line and the Myrrhea range. The former treats dry and damaged hair while the latter smoothens it. The products have no side effects. “All our products are 100 per cent natural,” Diego promises. “We don't have hair-colouring products because no colour is completely natural. Besides, colouring can damage hair,” he adds.
Diego flashes a smile when asked what got him interested in hair care. “I have worked in this field for 30 years. I want to spread the global message of well-being. After all, well-being is equal to beauty in which healthy hair plays an important role.”
