EATING OUT Hilton Garden Inn in Saket has a special grill menu for November
At the onset of winter, like it is now,many foodies are often on the look out for some nice live grill session. Catering to such thoughts, Hilton Garden Inn in New Delhi’s Saket has come up with a month-long Hot Off The Grill menu. Till November 30, grilled food lovers will be able to enjoy a spread of sizzling dishes prepared in the live kitchen by its Chef, Avinash Handoo.
The menu has grilled dishes from across the world. Though I have a soft corner for the Indian grilled stuff, the joy of digging into a plate of grilled tiger prawns or say a Norwegian salmon is nice in a different way.
At Hilton garden Inn, even as I take sips from its refreshing virgin Mojito, the chef comes in to serve me prawn fettuccini. It is a mouth-watering preparation of tomatoes, capers, spinach and fettuccini in a garlic cream sauce. The prawns taste real good in the garlic cream sauce and I can’t resist finishing the entire helping. Prawns are followed by spring chicken. Nicely grilled tender chicken pieces marinated with thyme and a mustard rub accompanied with buttered glazed vegetables is what I get. Succulent chicken pieces have the subtle aroma of mustard and when eaten with the butter glazed veggies, they taste delicious. Another chicken delicacy is its chicken forestier. It has Tex Mex flavours of cilantro and jalapenos cooked with garlic thrashed potatoes. However, it is the crusted rainbow trout which impresses me with its beautiful presentation and lovely taste. An 8-inch whole trout topped with tangy artichoke hearts and fresh basil and lemon shrimp butter sauce. Trout is a very delicate fish and it really tests the cooking skills of the chef. It is really tough to grill the fish and keep it intact, it hardly takes ten minutes of grilling and the fish is ready. The lemon shrimp butter sauce gives it juiciness and the much-required creamy texture. Just before ending my gastronomic journey here, I try its cheese melle feuille. A good blend of jalapeno marinated cottage cheese layered with spinach and sundried tomatoes. It is an option which any vegetarian will love to try.
I end the meal with a tiramisu.
