Canali offers every clothing accessory including a gold tie
Canali, the men’s wear brand is known for its “tailoring, taste and Italian tradition,” claim the makers. The brand now has an exclusive place in the UB City on Vittal Mallya Road. Spread over a 1,000 sq. ft. area, Canali is dominated by the colours of greys, blues and black. The USP of Canali is the suits, say the makers. Every single garment is said to be exclusively designed and produced in Italy, along “strict tailoring standards,” they add.
The suits are made in sartorial fabric, which gives the suits a long life, they explain. These come in regular fits, slim fits and short fits. The suits come in blues, greys and black with stripes and plain and start at Rs. 70,000.
Then there are T-shirts and linen shirts that start at Rs. 9,000. It is only in this section that you see slight variations in the shades of blues and greys. Other wise the clothes here are best suited for formal occasions. “The clothes sold here come with the highest range of cotton percentage,” explain the makers. Besides these there are shirts in solids and stripes again dominated with blues and greys. These shirts are priced Rs. 8,500 upwards.
Canali also offers shoes and bags made in “100 per cent leather”. The shoes come in broaks, that is, “they are hand stitched on the inside too.” The shoes start at Rs. 26,000. While the belts, wallets and key chains come at Rs. 6,500 onwards.
The other jaw-dropper at Canali are the gold ties. It is a 24 karat gold tie that comes at Rs. 9,000. Besides these there are silk and knit ties too that you can pick up. Canali’s reputation soared skywards “ever since Gene Hackman wore the imposing charcoal double-breasted business suit in the film ‘The Firm’”. The store in Bangalore was launched in June this year with Canali’s Fall Winter 2008/2009 collection. Most of the clothes are said to be made with soft and light weight fabric. Canali is open from 10.30 a.m. to 9.30 p.m. and can be contacted on 41738997/ 41738998.SHILPA SEBASTIAN R.
