Get creative

DakshinaChitra conducts a two day workshop on traditional Kalamkari - hand painting. Vijaya Kumar will teach participants the art of painting on fabrics with vegetable dyes. They will learn to draw floral and animal motifs. The dyes are procured from natural materials such as barks, leaves, roots and flowers, most of which have medicinal properties.

The fee is Rs. 1,500 and is inclusive of materials, refreshment and transportation. The workshop will take place on March 9 and 10 at DakshinaChitra, between 10.30 a.m. and 5.30 p.m.
