Passionate about the arts? The Madras Craft Foundation Institute of Arts Management, supported by the JRD Tata Trust, offers a one-year programme designed to create qualified professionals committed to India’s art and culture. The programme recognises that advocates of the arts need to be trained for administrative, managerial and leadership positions.

The course is in its third year and students and interns have secured placements in a wide range of art/culture related jobs, including cultural tourism, performing and visual arts organisations, cultural centres, museums, art galleries and the hospitality industry.

The course content draws upon different disciplines such as cultural studies, appreciation of Western and Indian art, art design, museum studies, exhibition design, videography, computer graphics, media and communication and principles of management. The course includes group and individual projects. DakshinaChitra, being a heritage centre with round-the-year cultural programmes and exhibitions, provides the opportunity for interns to develop and hone their creative skills.

Full fellowships and stipends available. The deadline for receipt of applications for this year’s programme is May 15.
