The Hyderabad chapter of the Ohara School of Ikebana presented colourful floral arrangements, Floral Raga, recently at Taj Banjara. Japanese flower arrangements were presented in Indian pots and vases with the vibrant flowers painting a contrasting picture against the antique urns. Poems on flowers like jasmine, chrysanthemums, orchids, gladioli and water lily were read out during the event. Arrangements of flowers in the form of earrings, bracelets and waistbands stole the show. The Ohara School announced the inauguration of its website in the presence of Sakura Ozaki, the vice-consulate of cultural affairs, Japanese Consulate. The Hyderabad chapter of the school specialises in the art of ikebana and also conducts activities such as demonstrations of Japanese tea ceremony and Teppenyaki cooking methods.
